The ESPR establishes a framework for setting ecodesign requirements on specific product groups enabling performance and information conditions known as ‘ecodesign requirements’.
REQUIREMENTS
Standardized environmental impact assessment: This creates a consistent method for measuring the environmental footprint of products and processes.
Promoting sustainable materials: This encourages the development and use of materials with a lower environmental impact throughout their life cycle.
Extended producer responsibility for textiles: This makes producers financially and operationally responsible for the end-of-life management of their textile products.
