What is wool fabric?

Wool is a fiber obtained from the skin of domestic sheep.Wool can also be obtained from animals such as alpaca, camel, Kashmir goat, and many others.

Characteristics and uses of wool

Wool fabric is characterized by its soft texture and curly shape. The finest wool is obtained from the shortest pile, while longer fibers produce a coarser type of wool. In general, it is a thick and elastic fabric, being a thermal insulator that retains heat very well and is ideal for cold climates and for making winter clothing. The types of wool depend on the animal it comes from and its manufacturing methods. We have, for example, the traditional tweed, a thick wool fabric that makes herringbone pattern, and its use is mainly in suits and coats. We also have worsted, a high quality fabric formed by compactly woven strands of wool, which is widely used in upholstery. Another widely used wool is cashmere, which comes from the Kashmir goat and is soft, lightweight and ideal for making scarves and coats. The classic fabric of the Scots, plaid wool also called tartan, is also composed of wool, and wool crepes, fine and soft, have a good drape and you can find them in suits and dresses.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?

Recovo fabrics are sourced from different suppliers, and each supplier sets their own minimums. There is a category called "MOQ under 5m" in the menu (under Shop) where you can see all the fabrics that can be purchased with MOQ minimums. You can also take a look at the description on each product page, where you can see the minimum purchase. We also have a section "Above 100 m stock" for those collections that need a higher volume of fabric.

Where do you ship to?

Recovo's wool fabrics and other fabrics are currently only shipped to EU countries.

How long will it take to receive my order?

We ship within 5-7 days. Shipping takes between 5-7 days for domestic shipments and 7-15 days for shipments to the rest of the EU.

Where does Recovo's wool come from?

Most of our suppliers are located in Europe, specifically in Spain and Portugal. On each product page you will find shipping information before check-out.
